The network simultaneously ordered a 26th season Law & Order: SVU while keeping its Christopher Meloni spinoff, Law & OrderOrganized Crime on the bubble (dun dun!).

Yes. NBC announced on March 21, 2024 that the show had been renewed for Season 24. It's currently airing its 23rd season, which is about 10-episodes shorter than usual due to production delays that resulted from the 2023 writers' and actors' strikes.

Season 24 will air during the 2024-2024 primetime season, which means it will come back this fall, likely in September.

Will Jeffrey Donovan be back for Law & Order Season 24?

At this point, there's no reason to believe Jeffrey Donovan, who played no-nonsense, old-school detective Frank Cosgrove, will be back. After starring in Seasons 21 and 22, he did not return for Season 23.
