Laura Dern Celebrates Son’s 22nd Birthday With Rare Photos Together
Laura Dern had a major reason to celebrate on Aug. 21, as it was her eldest child Ellery's 22nd birthday.
In honor of the big day, the Oscar-winning actress shared a sweet message for her son on Instagram, along with many personal photos of herself and her kids.
The 56-year-old shared a photo of herself and Ellery standing amongst the trees, with the camera angle looking up from below. Next, there were a couple of adorable pictures of her son as a child, as well as mother and son posing in front of Stonehenge. Dern also didn't forget to include her daughter, 18-year-old Jaya, and a photo of the two siblings sitting next to each other revealed how similar they look.
Along with the photos, she shared, "Watching this amazing, noble, kind boy grow into this 22-year-old artist man is the great privilege of my life. Happy birthday, Ellery!"
Many friends and fans wished Ellery a happy birthday in the comments, with Julianne Moore writing, "❤️❤️❤️."
Actress Ali Wentworth added, "This is beautiful.... xxxx."
"He resembles both you & your dad!" noted a fan, while another commented, "This is such a beautiful post! Happy birthday to your very talented son! 🥳🎂🎈."
Dern doesn't share images of her family too often, but she loves celebrating her kids any chance she gets. She shares both Ellery and Jaya with her ex-husband, singer-songwriter Ben Harper. The two were married from 2005 to 2013.
The actress' son Ellery is a musician, taking after his father, with the stage name Crazy Mike. He has also modeled in the past, working with Proenza Schouler, Valentino, and more.
