The Last of Us fans may have not seen the last of Bill and Frank just yet.

Shortly after his Emmys win for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series, Nick Offerman, who plays loner Bill on the HBO show, teased there may be more in store for his character and his on-screen love interest Frank, played by The White Lotus actor Murray Bartlett.

The pair took centre stage in the show's critically acclaimed episode 3 ('Long, Long Time'), a gut-wrenching studio of love in a post-apocalyptic setting.

With a second season of the show officially in the works, there may be a chance for Bill and Frank to return in some capacity despite that tragic finale.

"Oh, great question but I would have to ask somebody with a higher pay grade than myself," Offerman said backstage at the Creative Arts Emmys ceremony (via Deadline).

"It certainly has been pitched. I think we pitched a whole mini-series of a prequel of their lives before they met each other. It could be a musical. We're not short on ideas," he continued.

"We'll just we'll see what Craig [Mazin] and Neil [Druckmann] come up with."

The Parks and Rec star confirmed he'd reprise the role in a heartbeat if it were up to him.

"Oh sure," he said, adding how "lucky" he feels to have been cast as Bill in the series.

"I was lucky this time. They needed a guy who could use a shovel. Three of us in Hollywood, Harrison Ford passed and Jane Lynch was not available," he joked.

The Last of Us airs on HBO in the US, and on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW in the UK.
