UPDATE: Last two suspects granted bond in case of NC man found dead in Gallivants Ferry

The last two suspects in the case of a North Carolina found dead in Gallivants Ferry were arrested Wednesday morning, Horry County booking records show.

Both suspects received their bond hearings later Wednesday afternoon.

Ryan James Porter, 26, of Tabor City, N.C., was arrested at 7:23 a.m. Wednesday morning. Porter is facing a 2nd degree assault and battery by mob charge. If convicted, he would face anywhere from three to 25 years in prison.

An arrest warrant states that Porter “acted in concert to assault the victim by mob, which was corroborated by witness statements and video surveillance of the victim being immobilized, suffering a broken leg, nose and going unconscious.”

At his bond hearing at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Porter was granted a cash surety bond of $25,000 and was ordered to stay with his mother in Myrtle Beach.

His defense attorney, Morgan O’Bryan Martin, said that Porter denies all involvement in the case.

Joshua Thomas Brown, 21, of Nichols, was arrested at 8:37 a.m. Wednesday. He is facing an accessory after the fact charge, as well as a 3rd degree domestic violence charge.

The domestic violence charge stems from a relationship Brown had with Amber Watts, who is currently incarcerated and faces an accessory to murder charge in connection to the case.

Brown’s attorney confirmed the two were no longer dating at the 2 p.m. bond hearing.

Brown was granted a $15,000 bond with electronic monitoring for the accessory charge, as well as a $1,000 bond for the domestic violence charge.

Both were ordered to have no contact with the victim’s family as well.

Eight suspects in total have been identified in connection to the death of Adam Soles, of Chadbourn, N.C., the police department said.

Soles was found dead on Jan. 16 near the Gallivants Ferry area. A missing persons report was filed on Jan. 10.

Samantha Watts, arrested last week, is facing a murder charge, and Amber Watts, faces an accessory to murder charge.

Three juveniles, one facing a murder charge, have been arrested as well.
