Time is running out for Christmas shoppers.

A little planning ahead will help avoid the shame of shopping at the local gas station that just might be open on Christmas Day.

So for those of you (and you know who you are) who relish in waiting until the last-minute − be advised most Greater Akron and Canton retailers will have reduced hours on Christmas Eve and many will be closed on Christmas Day.

What time are the Summit Mall, Belden Village Mall and Aurora Farms Outlets Christmas hours?

The Summit Mall in Fairlawn will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day.

The Belden Village Mall in Canton is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day.

The Aurora Farms Outlets in Aurora are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day.

What stores are open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?

Here's a listing of holiday hours for a number of retailers in the Akron-Canton area.

  • Best Buy will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day

  • Costco will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and closed Christmas Day

  • CVS stores will be open on Christmas Eve but hours and whether a store will be open Christmas Day will vary by location

  • Dick's Sporting Goods will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day

  • Discount Drug Mart is open until 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve and is open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Day

  • Home Depot will be open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and closed Christmas Day

  • JCPenney stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day.

  • Kohl's will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day
