All lanes of Interstate 70 west closed for dump truck fire, will remain closed for hours
A dump truck fire closed all lanes of Interstate 70 west Friday afternoon at Interstate 71 north near 4th Street.
Police began diverting traffic from I-70 west shortly before noon after crews began working to extinguish the vehicle fire under the overpass.
The interstate will remain closed for several hours because officials will need to check the bridge for damage before traffic resumes, a Columbus police dispatcher said.
Police have not released any additional details, however, a dispatcher said that no one suffered any serious injuries as a result of the blaze.
