A Lamborghini Aventador driver outside of Toronto had their supercar impounded last week whenpolice stopped them for doing three times the speed limit.

The driver of this Lamborghini was stopped by the York Regional Police Department for doing speeds of 170 km/h in a marked 60 km/h zone, the agency said on Twitter. That means 106 mph in a 37 mph zone, which is a tremendous amount over the limit. To make matters worse, this particular stretch of road near Highway 7 and Keele is home to the region’s highest number of collisions each year. That’s all to say this likely isn’t the best place to try and let that mighty 6.5-liter V-12 engine stretch its legs.

As a result of their poor behavior, the driver of this Aventador will have to spend some time without the car. More specifically, the police department has the supercar locked in its impound lot for 14 days. Not that the owner could use the car during that time regardless, as their license has been suspended for 30 days in accordance with Ontario’s stunt driving penalties. Additional penance such as minimum fines of $2000 and 6 license demerits may also be in order.
