Lamar Jackson scrambles in preseason game for Ravens.

Before the Baltimore Ravens squared off with the Kansas City Chiefs this past weekend, the media labeled it a “must-win game” for Lamar Jackson.

Jackson, a former MVP, was winless against Patrick Mahomes entering Week 2. He snapped that losing streak this past Sunday, though, as he led the Ravens to a crucial victory over the Chiefs.

Following the win over the Chiefs, Jackson was asked if that game will silence some of the questions surrounding him. Although he believes Sunday’s performance may quiet some skeptics, he doesn’t think his doubters will stay silent for long.

“Noise will go away, and then it will come back somehow,” Jackson said. It’s always going to be like that as long as I’m playing. So, I don’t care about it.”

All Jackson can really do at this point is just ignore his critics, and it sounds like that’s what he plans on doing.

Jackson finished Week 2 with 346 total yards, three total touchdowns and two interceptions. He really took his game to another level in the second half.

The Ravens should expect another big performance from Jackson this upcoming weekend, as he’ll face a Detroit Lions defense that has given up at least 35 points in each of its first two games.

After a rough start to the season, Jackson may quietly put together a second MVP season.
