The Los Angeles Lakers are nearing a significant deal with the Sacramento Kings that centers around Buddy Hield.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowksi is reporting that Los Angeles could trade Kyle Kuzma and Montrezl Harrell in exchange for Hield. This is only possible because Harrell has accepted his player option for the 2021-22 season.

Hield would provide a huge boost to the Lakers’ lineup. During the 2020-21 season, he averaged 16.6 points per game for the Kings.

One of the main issues for Los Angeles last season was its shooting from beyond the arc. Hield could solve that problem, as he made 39.1 percent of his three-point attempts last season.

Even though Hield to the Lakers makes a lot of sense, this trade may not happen because Sacramento isn’t the only team talking shop with Los Angeles.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the Lakers and Wizards are discussing a trade that would send Russell Westbrook to Los Angeles.

The landscape of the NBA could drastically change tonight, especially if the Lakers pull off one of these two trades.

After getting bounced out of the playoffs early this past season, Los Angeles seems hell-bent on reloading its roster with a bit more firepower in the backcourt.
