We Are Lady Parts Trailer: The Band Enters Their ‘Villain Era’ in Season 2

The band is (finally) getting back together: After a three-year layoff, We Are Lady Parts has locked down a Season 2 premiere date on Peacock.

Season 2 of the comedy about an all-female Muslim punk rock band will debut Thursday, May 30 on the streamer with all six episodes, TVLine has learned. The sophomore run will also feature guest appearances from activist Malala Yousafzai and comedian Meera Syal.

Peacock has also released a trailer for the new season — which you can watch above — with the Lady Parts ladies enjoying their newfound success and embracing their “villain era” as they prepare to record an album that will be their “opus,” they declare. They need cash for studio time, though, while a new band on the block might be trying to steal their thunder…

We Are Lady Parts’ new season “sees the band return with a renewed artistic mission after the high of their first UK tour, only to find a rival band threatens their delicate status quo,” per the official description. “As the reality of chasing success sets in, Lady Parts embark on recording their first album, juggling personal ambitions and deciding whether ‘making it big’ is really what they wanted.”

Season 1 debuted on Peacock in June 2021 and won a Peabody Award the following year. Anjana Vasan (Killing Eve) stars as lead guitarist Amina Hussain, with Sarah Kameela Impey (Vera) as the band’s singer Saira, Juliette Motamed (Halo) as drummer Ayesha and Faith Omole (Endeavour) as bassist Bisma. Lucie Shorthouse (Bulletproof) plays the band’s manager Momtaz, with Zaqi Ismail (Doctor Who) as Ayesha’s brother Ahsan and Aiysha Hart (A Discovery of Witches) as Amina’s friend Noor.
