Lady Gaga Is 'Happy' on 38th Birthday and Says She Is Writing Some of Her 'Best Music'

"I can't remember a time I was so happy on my bday," Gaga wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday

Lady Gaga had a very "happy" 38th birthday.

On Thursday, the pop superstar shared an Instagram post where she spoke about the love she was receiving on her special day and provided an update about new music.

"Today has been so special—I can’t remember a time I was so happy on my bday. I am in love with my best friend, my family and friends are loving and kind and healthy. I feel like my heart is bursting with gratitude for my own health and MUSIC—I am writing some of my best music in as long as I can remember our movie Joker 2: Folie à Deux is coming out soon 😍 —AND seeing messages from all over the world from little monsters—artists—publications that love my work it means so much to me," Gaga wrote alongside a selfie featuring her with bleached blonde hair and eyebrows while holding up a peace sign.

She continued: "Thank you thank you thank you for loving me the way you do and for having such a real love for my songs—I’ve been writing ❤️pop songs since I was a little girl I can’t believe I still get to do what I love. This year will be an important and meaningful year for us I know. Music changes people lives im so honored I get to be a part of that in this life 🖤."

Ahead of her birthday, Lady Gaga celebrated at Giorgio Baldi in L.A. on March 27, sporting a leather look.

The "Bad Romance" singer has been providing fans with updates on her music this year on Instagram.

In February, Gaga began hinting at new music with photos herself playing piano and guitar in a recording studio and clarified what fans can expect it won't sound like.

She initially posted a short, selfie-style video of herself behind a microphone in a recording booth to the social media platform alongside an alien emoji on Tuesday.

The following day, Gaga posted a selfie alongside the cryptic caption, "There's a rat in the studio."

The Grammy winner then shared a picture of herself playing guitar while recording with a microphone on a daybed near a window. "No I’m not making a rock album," Gaga wrote alongside the photo.

Finally, the "Bad Romance" musician shared an image of herself playing piano as she appears to sing with her eyes closed, captioning the photo with a black heart emoji.
