Lady Gaga’s dog walker: Doctors and nurses ‘didn’t think I was going to make it’ after shooting

Ryan Fischer says doctors and nurses thought he was a goner after being shot during the dognapping of Lady Gaga’s French bulldogs.

The “Shallow” singer’s confidant detailed his rough recovery on Instagram, where he said not only did he enter a Los Angeles hospital in bad shape following the Feb. 24 incident, but he suffered setbacks including a recently collapsed lung on his road to recovery.

“Recovery isn’t a Straight Line,” Fischer’s detailed posting begins.

The 34-year-old took a bullet to the chest last month while walking the pop singer’s three dogs — two of which were stolen then later recovered unharmed. He nearly died holding on to the third dog.

“For me, I was recovering remarkably fast,” Fischer said of his hospitalization. “In days I had gone from bleeding out on a sidewalk, to overly-active ICU patient (which they were VERY not used to), to just waiting for my lung to heal so I could go home: everything appeared quite straight forward.”

According to Fischer, he thought he was in the clear, but that was not the case. His lung collapsed and air was seeping into his chest cavity.

“Unfortunately, the strange hissing and glugging coming from my chest every time I took a breath begged to differ with that assessment,” he claimed.

So, back to the ER he went, Fischer recalled.

“Along with accepting the the news that I was about to be readmitted, several nurses and doctors told me how they had been in the room when I came in with my gunshot,” he wrote. “How they didn’t think I was going to make it.”

Fischer’s Instagram message was accompanied by video of him taking off his hospital gown, putting on street clothes and dancing. TMZ reports that he has left the hospital after having part of a lung removed. The shooter remains at large.
