Kyrie Irving had quite the comment when he was asked about getting booed in Boston.

Irving compared it to having an ex-girlfriend that’s scorned.

“It’s like a scorned girlfriend, asking for an explanation why I left but still wanting a text back,” Irving said.

That is one legendary quote.

Remember, Irving played for the Celtics in 2017 and 2018 before becoming a member of the Nets. The Celtics were also the second team that he had played for after playing with the Cavs for six seasons.

Boston ended up taking Brooklyn down on Sunday in a tight affair, 126-120.

The Nets had a one-point lead going into the final frame before they were outscored 37-30. Irving was second on the team in scoring with 19 points and also had four rebounds and six assists.

Kevin Durant did all he could by scoring 37 points, but it wasn’t enough.

Jayson Tatum went off for the Celtics after finishing with a career-high 54 points. Without that performance, it’s likely that Irving would’ve had the last laugh.

Boston is now 39-27, while Brooklyn fell to 32-33 with the loss.
