Kyra Sedgwick Jokes She and Kevin Bacon Are Aging Together 'as Well as a Fine Whiskey'

Kevin Bacon joked that he and Kyra Sedgwick "aged better than those outfits" that Sedgwick shared to Instagram from a throwback 1990 photo of the couple

Kyra Sedgwick is taking a trip down memory lane with husband Kevin Bacon.

Sedgwick, 58, shared two photos of her and Bacon, 65, to Instagram on April 15. One snapshot shows the pair posing together almost exactly 34 years before in April 1990. The second picture shows Bacon wrapping his arm around Sedgwick at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival in October 2023.

The actress set the post to audio from Hozier's recent release "Too Sweet," emphasizing the lyrics, "I'd rather take my whiskey neat."

"Aging (almost?? hopefully??) as well as a fine whiskey," Sedgwick wrote in a caption to her post.

Bacon himself responded in a comment to his wife's post, writing, "I think we aged better than those outfits. 😂,"

Sedgwick and Bacon's love story famously began when they met on the set of the 1987 PBS movie Lemon Sky. The couple, who frequently share photos and videos of each other on social media, later married in September 1988 and share two adult children, Travis, 34, and Sosie, 32.

The husband-wife duo have worked together several times after their initial costarring roles in Lemon Sky, including on the 2004 movies Cavedweller and The Woodsman. Sedgwick even directed her husband in the 2022 movie Space Oddity, which their son Travis wrote the music for. Bacon and Sedgwick are reuniting on the big screen soon for a new movie titled Connescence, the first time they have acted together since 2004.

News of Connescencefirst broke in January; Deadline reported at the time that the film follows Bacon as a security guard named Stan, who meets Cynthia (Sedgwick) after preventing an attempted robbery at her home. During Sedgwick's April 2 appearance on The View, she described the movie as a romantic comedy.

"It’s far from coming out so don’t go looking for it yet — and hopefully we’re good enough actors that you will believe us and buy into these characters," she said during that appearance. "And of course you will, because it’s not us at all.”

Sedgwick also dished on her long-lasting marriage to Bacon, sharing, "You only need to hear the first two words of a story and you're like, ’Oh, it’s that story.' But you laugh because, you know ... I think that you have to, like, remain curious about each other, right? That’s important too."
