What to know about the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, from parking to discount days

The 126th run of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo begins Jan. 13 and runs through Feb. 4. Whether you’re new in town or need a rundown on this year’s festivities, here’s a guide to this legendary Fort Worth event.

HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS TO THE FORT WORTH STOCK SHOW & RODEO?

General admission for adults are $12, children ages 6-16 are $6, and children 5 and under are free. General admission gives access to all non-ticketed attractions for a day.

To purchase daily access to all non-ticketed attractions for the entire 23 days of the show, buy a souvenir pin for $50. For more information on the souvenir pin, visit the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo website’s “General Admission” page under the “Plan a Visit” tab. If purchased now until midnight Jan. 11, the souvenir pin is on sale for $40.

Tickets for stock show admission and rodeo events can be purchased online, by phone or in person at Dickies Arena.

Ticket prices vary for each rodeo event — ranging from $30 to over $200.

The Dickies Arena box office is open Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1911 Montgomery St. Rodeo ticket holders get in free to the stock show grounds on the day of their event.

ARE THERE DISCOUNTS FOR THE STOCK SHOW & RODEO?

Jan. 13, 20, 27 and Feb. 3: Senior citizen admission discounts for 55 and older, $6

Jan. 17: Dickies Day — Free general admission if visitors wear Dickies clothing.

Jan. 19: Texas A&M Day — Free general admission when visitors wear Texas A&M gear. Half-off gallery seating rodeo tickets for current Texas A&M ID card holders at the Dickies Arena Box Office starting Jan. 13.

Jan. 24: Stock Show Goes Pink — Half off rodeo and ground admission sales to support the Careity Foundation.

Jan. 26: TCU Day — Free general admission for those wearing school gear.

Jan. 30: Military Appreciation — Rodeo tickets, which include general admission, are free to active-duty and retired service members and their immediate family. Retired service members are those eligible for retirement benefits.

Jan. 31: Texas Tech Day — Free general admission to visitors wearing Texas Tech gear. Half-price gallery seating rodeo tickets with a current, valid Texas Tech ID at the Dickies Arena Box Office starting Jan. 13.

Feb. 2: Cook Children’s Day — Half off rodeo ticket sales to support the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

WHEN SHOULD I GO TO THE STOCK SHOW & RODEO?

The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo runs for 23 days and visitors can check the events schedule at fwssr.com/events and pick a day that works best.

Matt Brockman, Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo communications manager, previously told the Star-Telegram that he recommends visitors come during a weekday for a casual experience or in the evening after work.

Events and shows run at various times, so it’s best to check the schedule. The grounds will be open from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily.

HOW MUCH IS STOCK SHOW PARKING?

Parking is $17 at lots and garages near the grounds, and major credit cards are accepted for payment.

Here are the parking locations available to visitors near the grounds:

  • Western Heritage Garage, 1334 Gendy St.

  • Orange lot, 1600 Gendy St.

  • Blue lot, near the National Cowgirl Museum at 3596 Harley Ave

  • Yellow lot, east of Dickies Arena and Gate 44

  • Farrington Field parking lot

  • Dickies Arena West lot

Parking will also be available on Saturdays and Sundays at the UNT Health Science Center, 3500 Camp Bowie Blvd.

Ride share pick up and drop off locations will also be available.

  • Ride share pick up: 3596 Harley Ave.

WHAT KIND OF FOOD WILL BE THERE?

Whether you’re snacking on the go or sitting and savoring, you’ve got options at the stock show. Portable foods like corn dogs, cotton candy, cinnamon rolls and more will be available.

For guests wanting to take a break from the walking, Reata at the Rodeo and Reata at the Backstage Club inside the grounds will be open.

WHAT SHOPPING OPTIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE STOCK SHOW?

The Amon G. Carter Jr. Exhibits Hall at the Will Rogers Memorial Center will be home to dozens of vendors selling clothing, food and more. The Richardson-Bass building houses the Brown-Lupton Smith vendor area and Go Texan food market.

Outside vendors will line Burnett Tandy and Rip Johnson drives and cattle barn vendors will be nearby to sell all your livestock needs.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE STOCK SHOW?

There’s no dress code, but guests are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes for walking, the Star-Telegram previously reported.

Once inside the grounds, there are retail vendors selling boots, jeans, hats and more for those wanting to put a Western twist on their outfit. The vendors will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
