Get to Know the New Cast Members on 'RHOP' Season 8

Real Housewives of Potomac Season 8

The Real Housewives of Potomac is back, and there's plenty of drama to go around.

Last year on Season 7a lot of the plot centered around Candiace Dillard Bassett and her husband Chris Bassett's alleged inappropriate behavior towards Gizelle Bryant at the Season 6 reunion. But it was OG cast mate Robyn Dixon who would throw the series in a spiral. While the season ended with her finally getting re-married to her former ex-husband, Juan Dixon, it was revealed that Juan had been having an affair, and both Robyn and Gizelle kept this information under wraps during the filming of Season 7.

Now Robyn's returned, and it looks like the affair will be at the center of Season 8 (although when it comes to the ladies of Potomac, you can expect to see so much more).

Here's everything we know about The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 8:

When did The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 8 premiere?

The show returned just in time for 2023 Bravocon with a premiere on Nov. 5, 2023.

Who is in the cast of The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 8?

All seven main cast members from last season are returning for RHOP Season 8. That means Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Ashley Darby, Robyn Dixon, Candiace Dillard Bassett, Wendy Osefo, and Mia Thornton will all be back. Two new cast members are also said to join Season 8. Wendy is bringing on Keiana Stewart as a friend. Meanwhile, licensed attorney Nneka Ihim is joining as a new housewife.

Gizelle Bryant

Gizelle caused a stir last season after her accusations about Chris damaged her relationship with Candiace. It also brought up a larger question about what is and isn't inappropriate amongst friends. While Chris's name was ostensibly cleared, the ladies noticed a pattern in Gizelle's behavior. Some accused her of taking aim at a different husband each season to deflect from her own life. The notoriously private single mother has often kept her dating life under wraps much to the chagrin of her costars. However, now that she's dating a fellow Bravolebrity, Winter House's Jason Cameron, Gizelle may be a little more forthcoming in Season 8.

The Grand Dame has garnered a reputation for staying above the drama and playing the role of peacemaker. But after her frenemy, Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, reappeared in Season 7, Karen was pushed to her limit and shockingly lost her cool. Karen's also had a lot to say in interviews about Robyn's indiscretions. But pointing the finger at another cast member for being secretive may mean that secrets of her own will be revealed. Namely, a rumor that she's been having an affair with a man nicknamed "blue eyes" on-and-off for years.

When it was revealed that Ashley had finally decided to divorce her husband, Michael Darby, a wave of relief fell over the cast and fans alike. The Australian entrepreneur was revealed to have cheated on the young housewife in Season 6, and had loads of friction with other husbands and housewives in the cast. Season 7 followed her struggles with the divorce, as well as her being left with almost nothing thanks to an iron-clad prenup. Not all hope is lost for the mother of two, though. She's since been actively dating, TikToking and living her best life, proving that the divorce couldn't break her. Which hopefully means we'll be seeing a much happier Ashley as she navigates this new chapter.

Robyn may have planned to rest and relax after Season 7 of RHOP wrapped. But after the sordid details of Juan's affair came to the surface, this housewife has been busy. She's garnered criticism for not only keeping her husband's indiscretions quiet, but also revealing the details of it all on her and Gizelle's podcast—Reasonably Shady—which they put behind a paywall. Despite fans calling for her to be fired, Robyn has returned for Season 8.

Most of last season saw Candiace defending her husband, which at times overshadowed the release of her single "Insecure," remixed by legendary rapper Trina, and her dealing with her IVF journey. Ever since joining the cast in Season 3, Candiace has been a firecracker thanks to her sharp tongue and shady reads. As a result, her only supporter left in the cast seems to be Wendy. Perhaps Season 8 will see Candiace form friendships with the newbies.

Wendy Osefo
Clifton Prescod/Bravo

Professor Wendy had a rough Season 7. After her fight with Mia in Miami, everyone chose sides, leading to Wendy finding accommodation at a hotel away from the cast and being ostracized. It essentially split the cast in half, and spurred a more poignant discussion about colorism, especially as the group leaned towards supporting Mia who was objectively the aggressor and the first one to throw a drink. While Wendy is undeniably someone that tends to dig into people's insecurities and say some pretty twisted things, her lack of support in the cast has been palpable. Season 8 sees her friend Keiana Stewart join as a "friend of," so the dynamic could change entirely.

Mia Thornton
Clifton Prescod/Bravo

Between her health issues, the tumultuous end to her relationship with her childhood bestie, and losing control over her husband's business (and subsequently all their money), Mia had a rough Season 7. She also continued to struggle to bond with the cast after her power trip in Miami, ousting Wendy from their shared accommodation and banning her from all the group activities. What happens with Mia next is uncertain, which makes her a wild card for the season ahead.

Nneka Ihim

It takes guts to join this group of women, many of whom are old friends. So it's exciting to see Nneka take on the challenge. She's a licensed attorney, born in Boston and raised in Wisconsin, and according to her Instagram bio, a champagne connoisseur. Outside of her work as an attorney, she briefly worked as a CNN correspondent. Right now, we know little else about her but with the investigative skills of the women of RHOP, we're sure about to learn a whole lot more.
