Kirsten Dunst's new movie lands fresh Rotten Tomatoes rating after first reviews
Kirsten Dunst's new movie Civil War has landed a fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes after its first reviews.
Directed by Alex Garland, the A24 film sees Dunst's character Ellie and her team of fellow journalists "travel across the United States during a rapidly escalating civil war that has engulfed the entire nation".
Dunst's real-life husband Jesse Plemons (Killers of the Flower Moon) also stars in the dystopian flick, along with Nick Offerman (The Last of Us), Wagner Moura (Narcos), Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla), Jefferson White (Yellowstone) and Sonoya Mizuno (Devs).
At the time of writing, Civil War has an impressive critics' score of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes from 18 reviews, after making its debut at SXSW.

The Hollywood Reporter

With this latest film, he sounds the alarm, wondering less about how a country walks blindly into its own destruction and more about what happens when it does."

"It’s the most upsetting dystopian vision yet from the sci-fi brain that killed off all of London for the zombie uprising depicted in 28 Days Later, and one that can’t be easily consumed as entertainment. A provocative shock to the system, Civil War is designed to be divisive. Ironically, it’s also meant to bring folks together."
