Kirkgate: Search teams called to derelict building collapse

A search and rescue team is working at the scene of a derelict building collapse in Leeds city centre.

Emergency services were called to Kirkgate shortly after 16:00 BST on Friday, West Yorkshire Police said.

"We have no reports of injuries at this time, but our Search and Rescue Unit are in attendance," West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

A number of nearby roads have been closed and the police have asked people to avoid the area.
