Find out when Kip Moore's 'Damn Love World Tour' comes to Stockton

For the past five months, American country music singer and songwriter Kip Moore has performed on stages worldwide, from Australia to the United Kingdom.

Next week Moore will make his first stop in California as part of his “Damn Love World Tour.”

Stockton will be his first concert in the Golden State.

Moore will perform on Thursday, Sept. 7, in downtown Stockton at the Bob Hope Theatre at 242 E. Main St.

"Looking forward to providing levity for people facing whatever they're facing in this life. That's the beauty in music is I get a chance to provide people a little bit of levity, for at least for a couple of hours every single night," Moore told The Record on Friday. "So, that's what I look forward to. And I love playing out west. We have an amazing fan base out west in California. So we always look forward to coming."

He will be headlining his first Stockton show, he said.

Those attending should expect no more than everything.

"We are never going to go through the motions. We give you every single thing we got every night, we step on the gas 100%, and we leave it all on stage every single night," Moore said.

While his favorite song from the album varies each night, one thing is for sure is that he will feel the song.

"It depends on where I'm at mentally. My emotional connection to songs, in general, are going to vary day by day, and there's going to be certain nights where (The) Guitar Slinger feels very true to me," Moore said. "And there's going to be certain nights where songs like Mr. Simple will resonate, maybe because I'm missing family and places that I love to be, so it just varies from night to night and what kind of head space I am in."

The song "Damn Love" was not written by him.

"It's the only one on the record that I didn't write," Moore said.

According to Genius.com, the song was written by James McNair, Jaren Johnston, and Jason Gantt.

“I just think that word love in its own, by itself, it evokes so many different types of emotions. And that's what the damn is about. It's about while one person is going through the euphoric feelings that it brings, you got somebody else that's dealing with the heart-wrenching feelings that come with that word.” Moore said. “The word it's a very contradicting word. So I think that's what damn love means to me. And I think there's a lot of that symbolism throughout the record."

On Friday, he will perform in Anaheim, and on Saturday, in San Diego. Rock band The Cadillac Three will be the special guest for these and other fall concerts, including Stockton.

Moore said he chose The Cadillac Three as his special guest "because they're badass."

He added, "Because they're real musicians that are really good at their craft. There's no smoke and mirrors like so much in music today, there's just a bunch of tracks. They're the real deal on stage. And they're incredible at what they do.”

It will be a three-hour show. The Cadillac Three will perform for an hour, he said.

Moore's tour began in Australia in March and will end in November in Manistee, Michigan.

"It's been amazing. We've had nothing but pack houses that know all the music and so far, it's been a pretty, pretty unbelievable tour," Moore said.

Once the tour wraps up, Moore is planning to "go surfing for two months in Indonesia."
