Kingwood Center Gardens unveils new admission prices
Kingwood Center Gardens on April 1 will change its pricing for general garden admission.
Adults 19 and over will pay $10 to enter. Children 7-18 will pay $5 (formerly $8 for 13-18), and children 6 and under will be admitted free of charge. Kingwood members get unlimited free garden admission.
Kingwood officials say they are committed to ensuring the Gardens remain accessible to the community by offering free admission on Free First Mondays, Live on the Lawn summer concerts and Family Day. Free admission days are Arbor Day, April 26; National Public Gardens Day, May 10; Grandparents Day, Sept. 8; and Veterans Day, Nov. 11. F
There will be half-price admission days on summer solstice, June 20; autumnal equinox, Sept. 22; and 2025 spring equinox.
Kingwood participates in Museums for All ($1 admission with an EBT card and ID) and offers a free family admission package through the Adventure Pass program at the Mansfield Richland County Public Library. Existing Kingwood memberships at the dual or individual level will receive a special offer by mail in April to assist with potential impacts due to the change in child pricing.

Like many businesses, Kingwood said it is facing increased operating costs including horticulture resources, utilities, fuel, equipment and staffing expenses. Kingwood is expanding education programs and planning special exhibits while continuing signature events like Christmas at Kingwood, Pumpkin Glow and Wine Walk and while maintaining and restoring the historic garden estate.
Kingwood's hours of operation starting April 1 are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. except Thursdays, when operations end at 9 p.m. Kingwood Hall will now be open longer, closing one hour before the gardens. The display greenhouse, Kingwood Garden & Gift Shop and Gateway Café close one-half hour before the gardens.
