Kingston's Sullivan, Olympic's Swain voted as Kitsap Sun athletes of the week

Kingston'sNevaeh Sullivan and Olympic's Jeremiah Swain are this week's Kitsap Sun athletes of the week as selected by readers in an online poll between March 25-27. Athletes are nominated by their respective high school coaches.

Sullivan, who plays softball for the Buccaneers, helped the team go 2-1 by collecting three extra-base hits, including a home run, and eight RBI. She led all vote-getters with 368 votes. Other female nominees were North Kitsap softball player Reyna Blackwood, Bremerton softball player McKaela Robison, North Mason track and field athlete Adrienne Tupolo and North Mason tennis player Emma Hunt.

Swain, who plays soccer for the Trojans, helped the team go 3-0 with two shutouts and 14 aerial battles won. Swain led all male vote-getters with 158 votes. Other nominees were Klahowya baseball player Aiden Michael and North Mason soccer player Pedro Salvador.

March 18-20: Ava Day, Central Kitsap softball, went 4-for-4 with a walk, triple, two home runs, three RBI and five runs in Central Kitsap's 15-10 win over Bainbridge, and Keegan Bailey, Central Kitsap boys soccer, scored two goals in Central Kitsap's season-opening 3-1 win against Peninsula.
