King Charles Shares Father’s Day Video Featuring Extremely Rare Clips of Late Dad Prince Philip

Though King Charles couldn’t spend this past Father’s Day with his late father, Prince Philip (who passed away in April 2021), that didn’t stop the 75-year-old monarch from dedicating a sweet tribute to the former Duke of Edinburgh on social media.

On Sunday, His Majesty posted a video montage featuring throwback black-and-white clips of himself and his dad on the royal family’s official Instagram page. The video tribute starts with rare footage of a young Prince Philip pushing a baby Prince Charles in a carriage. As the proud dad bends down to pick up his son, the Duke of Edinburgh flashes a smile to photographers.

Then, the montage cuts to a cheeky clip of Prince Charles (who looks no older than 10 years old) and Prince Philip smiling and laughing while watching a parade. Royal fans were even treated to a rare video of a young King Charles and his dad spending some quality father-son time together as the late Queen Elizabeth II looks on and smiles.

The caption read, “Wishing all Dads, and those who may be missing their parents today, a relaxing Father’s Day.”

However, King Charles is not the only royal family member to post a touching Father’s Day tribute on social media. That same day, Prince William shared a personal Father’s Day message to his dad on Instagram. Along with an adorable throwback pic of the young prince and his dad kicking a ball around, the Prince of Wales wrote, “Happy Father’s Day, Pa,” and the father of three signed with his initial, “W.”

These royals sure know how to give a heartwarming tribute.
