Prince Harry's forthcoming memoir Spare details the fall-out he had with his brother, Prince William. He calls his older brother his "beloved brother" and "archnemesis," and according to a leak obtained by the Guardian, details a physical assault committed by William.

Their father, King Charles, reportedly tried to intervene in the dispute between his sons, and met with them after the funeral of Prince Philip in April 2021 at Windsor Castle. According to the Guardian, Harry quotes his father as saying, "Please, boys, don’t make my final years a misery."

Per Vanity Fair, "It is understood Charles took his sons for a walk around the castle grounds after the service and tried to act as a peacemaker, however, little headway was made and William and Kate were seen leaving shortly afterwards while Harry stayed to spend time with his royal cousins."

The leaks are a decidedly different tone than what Prince Harry has said about his family since stepping down as working royals. In Harry & Meghan, his Netflix docuseries with Meghan Markle, Harry barely discussed his father.

He did, however, briefly talk about returning to the UK for his grandfather's funeral. At the funeral, Harry says, he was "having chats with my brother and my father, who were...very much focused on the same misinterpretation of the whole situation." He did not specify what that misinterpretation was—perhaps Spare will go into greater detail.

"None of us really wanted to have to talk about it at my grandfather's funeral," Harry added.
