Kim Kardashian's Waist-Snatching 2024 Met Gala Corset Sparked Controversy. 2 Days Later, She Did It Again

The mogul called the her latest look “Margiela Broken Doll”

Kim Kardashian isn’t quite done with dramatic corsets.

After appearing in a waist-snatching Margiela by John Galliano design at the 2024 Met Gala on Monday, May 6, the mogul debuted another corset look by the fashion house. The 43-year-old took to Instagram on Wednesday, May 8 to show off a Margiela ensemble that she calls “Broken Margiela Doll.”

In the photos, Kardashian wears a nude bodysuit, distressed leg warmers and gloves along with a leather corset that, just like her Met Gala look, made her waist look teeny-tiny. She’s still rocking her waist-length icy blonde hair, which is styled into loose waves.

The carousel also shows the mogul posing with an array of accessories including black platform shoes, a lopsided hat, multicolored purse and a tortoiseshell neck piece. While decked out in accessories, the star is noticeably back to brunette, her naturally dark hair pulled back into a sleek updo.

Following in her tradition of controversial Met Gala moments, the SKIMS founder graced the iconic Met steps in a head-turning look in honor of the theme of “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion." Her sheer Margiela by John Galliano dress featured a lace train with leaves and floral accents. The star also added a simple gray sweater and her tousled bleach-blonde hair was loosely braided at the ends.

Speaking with Vogue, she explained that the look was meant to represent “the wildest night of my life in a garden” where she just ran out and grabbed her “boyfriend's sweater and threw it on and had to get to work. And my hair's all messed up."

The most eye-catching element of her look was her silver corset, which gave her a dramatically small waist. At one point, Kardashian appeared to get help from attendees to make her way up the steps as a result of the constraining dress.

In a behind-the-scenes video of her fitting for Vogue, Kardashian revealed some shocking details about the look that fans didn’t see on the red carpet. While being laced into the corset, which, according to the label, was rewoven with antique silver brocade, the star breathes through her mouth.

“It’s an art form, but I got it,” she says, referring to her apparent struggle to breathe.

Despite any difficulty, Kardashian says she loved the corset because it made her boobs and waist look “so good.”

“I’ll feel so snatched, I won’t even be able to communicate to you how snatched I feel,” she added.
