Kim Kardashian is striking in silver at the 2024 Met Gala.

For the red carpet at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art tonight, the reality star and Skims founder opted for a metallic silver corset dress from Maison Margiela that cinched her tightly at the waist—in line with her signature style. The gown had a floral motif featuring cutouts that exposed Kardashian’s legs.

In an unexpected move, she wore the dramatic piece with a cozy cropped gray sweater layered on top.

For glam, Kardashian went full bombshell in a smoky eye, bronzed contour, and a glossy pink lip. Her ice-blonde hair was down in loose waves, and she wore a pointy nude manicure to balance her look.

The theme of the night is “The Garden of Time,” based on the art museum’s Costume Institute’s new exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

Kardashian is always ready for the spotlight. In her own famous words, she was “born for this.” At last year’s gala honoring the late designer Karl Lagerfeld, Kardashian wore a showstopping white midi dress by Schiaparelli made entirely of strands of pearls—and reminiscent of the pearl look she wore on her 2007 Playboy cover. The maximalist gown also featured a silky corset bodice and bra in a golden hue. Kardashian finished the bold ensemble with a massive diamond-and-pearl choker, diamond stud earrings, white sandals encrusted with pearls, and a matching pearl anklet. She took eldest daughter North West as her date to the event.

The year prior, Kardashian famously walked up the Met steps with then-boyfriend Pete Davidson. He looked cool in a black suit and sunglasses, while she was all Old Hollywood in Marilyn Monroe’s iconic 60-year-old “Happy Birthday Mr. President” dress by Jean Louis.
