As the fourth season of The Kardashians comes to a close—16 years following the premiere of their very first reality series—Kim Kardashian is reflecting on her family's viral levels of fame—which she jokes they "scammed the system" to achieve.

During the finale, which aired on Hulu on Nov. 30, the mother of four looked back on their not-so-humble beginnings, when Keeping Up With the Kardashians was just hitting the air and certain members of the family thought, "This show's going nowhere!'"

Okay, so it was just Scott Disick, who celebrated his 40th birthday on the most recent episode. Despite being there from day one, Kourtney Kardashian's ex-partner wasn't sold on the stability of the series, but, in retrospect, he sees just how far they've all come—especially Kim.

As the SKIMS founder, 43, toasted Scott at his party, she emphasized how he's "supported [her] through thick and thin" throughout the 19 years they've known one another, standing by her "through every phase."

Scott reminded viewers how far she's come over those nearly two decades, pointing out her recent venture into law and determination to pass the bar exam, plus the way she made her way up from her very first cover feature on K9 Magazine to publications like Forbes and Vogue.

As her accomplishments washed over her, Kim came to a realization, drawing everyone's attention when she noted, "Guys, we scammed the system. We did it! Whatever it is, we figured it out and did it!"

"It worked," Scott agreed, as Kris Jenner looked on with a gleeful smiled.

As she further discussed the family's empire in a separate, confessional interview, Kim shared that Scott will "always say, 'God, can you believe you did it?'"

"I can't," was her response. "This is crazy." Ultimately, she knows their fame is somewhat of a fluke. "We aren’t supposed to be here, like how did we get in this cool party?" she wondered. "We weren’t the cool kids, how did we do it?"

But while any celeb doesn't have far to look to spot their swarm of haters, Kim's definitely found her footing as a member of the cool kids.
