Kim Kardashian Reveals Why She and Pete Davidson Broke Up
It wasn’t long before the season three premiere of The Kardashians addressed some of the biggest developments in the family that the public didn’t know about, from Khloé Kardashian’s second baby’s name to Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s decision to end IVF treatment.
Kim Kardashian also took the mic, addressing for the first time why she and Pete Davidson ended their nine-month relationship in August 2022, and how her ex-husband Kanye West’s actions will continue to impact their four children.
Regarding Davidson, Kardashian said, via Entertainment Tonight, “We just had talks and talks, we’d been talking about it. So it’s just like both of us just communicating really well about it. It’s obviously sad when you...nine months. It’s like a long time. I don’t have random hookups and relationships.”
Kardashian added that she felt “a lot of guilt” while dating Davidson because “he went through a lot because of my relationship.” Kardashian’s comments allude to West’s very public harassment of Davidson, which led Davidson to reportedly seek trauma therapy.
She also addressed how hurtful and harmful West’s comments about her and her sex tape have been while talking to her mom Kris Jenner in the show. “He looks so down on me for my [sex] tape and like brings it up all over town,” she said, via Daily Mail. “All over the media. Thanks for reminding people once again. All of his shenanigans is going to be far more damaging to the kids one day than my tape will ever be.”
“And I have to sit here and not say anything ever because I know one day my kids will appreciate that and I know that’s the best thing for them,” she added, at that point emotional.
She also told Jenner, via E!, that West made up a rumor that she cheated on him with Drake. “The one that was supposed to protect me—and still does interviews saying they will be my forever protector—is the one that’s hurting me the most,” she said. “He was the one that started a rumor that said I was hooking up with Drake, having an affair. Our whole marriage he accused me of that publicly. I really can’t wrap my head around how he thinks he is a protector.”
