How Kim Kardashian Is Privately Coping With Her Ex Kanye West’s Drama and Anti-Semitic Remarks

Kanye West’s disturbing anti-semitic remarks have prompted the fashion community to cut ties with him. Yesterday, Adidas became the latest company to end its professional relationship with the Yeezy designer—at a great cost to him. (West is no longer a billionaire because of the move, Forbes reports, losing $1.5 billion of his net worth.)

West’s public controversy—including him saying that he considered him and ex-wife Kim Kardashian divorced only on paper while also doubling down on his anti-semitic remarks in the same interview—has undeniably affected Kardashian, who shares four young children with West: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. A source close to Kardashian spoke to E! about how she is handling her ex-husband’s public fallout.

“Kim’s just always worried about the kids,” one source said.

A second source addressed how she’s handling things at home. “Kim is good at compartmentalizing and trying to keep things peaceful for the kids,” the source said. “They focus on the kids and what they are doing.”

One thing Kardashian seemingly isn’t doing this time? Getting involved with West. TMZ reported on October 14 that while West has a history of mental health episodes (he has bipolar disorder and has had manic episodes publicly in the past), Kardashian hasn’t stepped into help him or intervene, despite having done so previously.

Multiple sources told TMZ that “Kim has totally removed herself from the situation with Kanye and hasn’t spoken directly to him in weeks.” Sources told the outlet that West has reached out to her, but she hasn’t responded. Sources close to West wish Kardashian was talking to him to help deescalate him. Multiple sources expressed concern then that West “could lose a lot of money while everything seems to fall around him, but there’s no safety net,” the outlet wrote. That ended up becoming reality.

Kardashian hasn’t made any comments about West, but she did condemn anti-semitism on her Instagram Story. “Hate speech is never OK or excusable. I stand together with the Jewish community and call on the terrible violence and hateful rhetoric towards them to come to an immediate end,” she wrote.
