Kim Clijsters might be done playing tennis for good this time.

She has officially announced her retirement from the sport for the third time and will no longer play competitive tournaments.

“I can’t wait to see what new adventures will cross my path,” Clijsters said.

The 38-year-old came out of retirement for a second time back in 2019 and played in the US Open in 2020, plus some tournaments in 2021. That comeback came after she was off the WTA Tour for seven years.

Clijsters is a four-time Grand Slam singles champion who won her first major back in 2005 at the US Open. She also won that major in 2009 and 2010 before adding an Australian Open title in 2011.

The tennis world wasted no time in paying its respects to this great champion.

During her time as a player, she won 52 total titles (singles & doubles). She also won three WTA Tour Championships.
