Killing Eve star Jodie Comer has responded to rumours that she could be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of the Fantastic Four.

Casting for the MCU incarnation of the superhero team is yet to be confirmed, though Comer's name has been doing the rounds as a possible Sue Storm in Matt Shakman's upcoming movie.

Appearing on Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused, the subject was broached by the presenter after he asked if she was a big Marvel fan.

"No… I think I know where this is going," she admitted, as Horowitz then asked if she was familiar with the Fantastic Four.

"I am now… for the last year", Comer quipped.

Pressed on whether she had ever met or spoken to Marvel boss Kevin Feige, the actress said: "No. No, guys, I don’t know anything about it. I feel like when I say this people are like, '…OK'. It's like you can't win either way."

Asked whether it was of interest to her, Comer then replied: "I think never say never. But like right now, no. But I think never say never, right? Usually when you finish one project, you want to try something very different. So I don’t know, maybe?"

Horowitz then joked about her casting potentially being announced next week, meaning Comer could be stringing them along, the actress joking: "No, I've been lying to you. You'd be like, 'Wow, her acting is that good! She really is the real deal!'"

Another star that has been rumoured as part of the Fantastic Four is You's Penn Badgley, who was similarly pressed on Happy Sad Confused recently about possibly playing Reed Richards.

"Well… No, I can't reveal that. Neither confirm nor deny," he said, adding: "No, I don't know what to say about that."

Fantastic Four is due to be released in cinemas on February 14, 2025.
