Khloe Kardashian took to social media on April 24 to introduce her followers to a new family member, an adorable Blue Russian kitten that was a gift for her daughter True's 6th birthday.

The kitten is so cute it doesn't even look real. It looks like a stuffed animal.

Kardashian posted on Instagram, "All True wanted for her six birthday was another kitty. She is such a great kitty mommy to Grey Kitty. I know she will be just as wonderful to Baby Kitty.Never in a million years did I think I would have one cat let alone two. But here we are and I love them. I love how much my kids love them as well. But this is my maximum for cats. Two is enough.Anyways, welcome Baby Kitty to the family. I’m sure Grey Kitty will be so happy to have a friend."

Now, I'm all for kids growing up with pets. Pets teach kids responsibility and empathy and kids who have pets experience less stress and anxiety.

But six-years-old is young. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't even let the most mature six-year-old be alone with a kitten. I'm sure any of the Kardashian kids are always surrounded by nannies and other caregivers, so I'm sure that's a special circumstance, but I do think at six-years-old a kid isn't quite old enough to grasp the concepts of feeding a kitten or handling them gently.

How To Choose A Cat For Your Kid

Not that the Kardashian family is asking for my advice on this subject, but until a kid is older you should only get them older cats. Why? Well, The American Humane Society explains, "Young children tend to be very active and may be too rough with fragile kittens, which can result in injuries to the kitty and/or a fearful, skittish adult cat. Similarly, young kittens have particularly sharp teeth and claws, which can accidentally injure delicate young children."

For all these reasons, cats over 2 or 3 years old are best for kids under age 5 or 6.

Looking at the above photos I can see a few things that are wrong. Cats should never be fed from a can. Have you ever nicked your finger on a metal can? It hurts like heck. A kitten could scratch themselves on a can. Plus a cat shouldn't be bundled in a blanket like that and held because it can't run away if it wants to get away.

But like I said, they didn't ask me anyway. Cute cat, though.
