Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick Mark Major Anniversary With Sweet Throwback Photos
35 years have come and gone for Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, but to them, it feels like just "a heartbeat."
The beloved couple is celebrating a major anniversary today, Sept. 4, marking three and a half decades of marriage—an anniversary that Bacon has previously said feels like New Year's to him: "September feels like when the year starts. It's hopeful."
The Footloose fave and The Closer star both took to Instagram today with heartfelt tributes to their relationship, posting glimpses at their past in a pair of sweet throwback snapshots.
Bacon uploaded what looks like a scan from a family photo album, in which he sits shirtless at a dining room table with Sedwick sprawled across his lap, grinning at the camera as he pressed a kiss to her temple.
"35 years feels like a heartbeat," he wrote sweetly next to the photo.
Meanwhile, Sedgwick uploaded a photo of a Polaroid in which the two shot more serious looks at the camera, seemingly from the film set on which they met.
"It was 1987- on the set of 'Lemon Sky' - I met a man named Kevin. Happy 35 my love," she wrote in her caption.
For Bacon, it was love at first sight when the two met on the 1988 film, but Sedgwick wasn't so convinced.
Riding high on the success of Footloose, he may have come off a little too strong, but she ultimately agreed to a date and woke up the next day feeling "like home."
The two were married two years later, when Bacon was 30 and Sedgwick was 23, and now, everyone wants the secret to their success—including Kelly Clarkson—but they swear they have none for their long-lasting and full relationship, which includes two children together: 34-year-old Travis and 31-year-old Sosie.
