Kesha Claims Prop Knife Used During Her Lollapalooza 2024 Set Was Swapped Out for a 'Real Butcher Knife'
The artist says she "didn't know" that the switch was allegedly made ahead of her performance
Kesha seemingly faced a sharp surprise when she took the stage at Lollapalooza 2024.
The "TiK ToK" singer, 37, performed at the famed music festival in Chicago on Thursday, Aug. 1, and during her live rendition of her 2010 Animal album cut "Backstabber," the singer brandished a knife –without realizing that the prop blade she originally expected to be there was allegedly swapped out for a real one.
After the performance, Kesha posted to X (formerly Twitter) to claim that "apparently the prop knife went missing and they replaced it with a real butcher knife stolen from the kitchen. and i didn’t know. till now," insinuating that she went the entire performance without realizing that the blade she brandished in her right hand, made stabbing motions and shimmied across the floor with was an actual knife.
"Watch that again," she encouraged fans, referring to the footage from her performance.
A rep for Kesha did not immediately return PEOPLE's request for clarification on the matter.

Kesha's performance at Lollapalooza came alongside other stellar showings from the likes of Chappell Roan, Megan Thee Stallion, Hozier and dozens of other artists that same day.
