Kerry Washington May Post Funny Workout IG Vids, But Her Abs Are Serious AF

  • Kerry Washington is known for being a badass actress, and a new IG video of her most recent workout put that theory into action.

  • The actress, 45, posted an adorable video during a kickboxing workout, and showed off her sculpted arms and abs in the process.

  • Kerry is a big fan of Pilates, which works the entire body, and used to do a lot of water aerobics back in 2017.


Having a workout buddy is clutch, and apparently Kerry Washington knows just how sweet a deal it really is. The 45-year-old actress just dropped a video of herself goofing off with actor Omar Sy while kickboxing, and she is simply all-over sculpted.

In the video, Kerry and Omar mug for the camera, before Kerry “accidentally” punches Omar with her boxing glove. He retaliates, and things progress from there. While the video had plenty of people in the comments laughing, it’s hard to miss Kerry’s next-level toned arms and a peek of her sculpted abs as she throws punches and kicks in a cute workout 'fit.

“My leading man, such a knockout 🥊,” the actress jokingly captioned the photo, and her famous friends cheered her on. “Power Duo! 💥,” responded Reese Witherspoon. “You both are🔥🔥🔥,” said Bryce Dallas Howard.

OK, so clearly Kerry got some of that impressive muscle tone from kickboxing. Kickboxing, JIC you’re not familiar with it, is a type of martial arts that combines boxing with some elements of karate—especially the kicking parts. It’s a great workout for strength, endurance, and cardio.

Kerry is also just really into exercise. “I love to work out. It’s really important to me; it’s part of the culture of my family,” she told Allure back in 2017. And it seems that trend has continued!

Kickboxing isn’t all Kerry does to stay strong, though. Back in May, she dropped an impressive video on TikTok of herself doing a Pilates workout that focused on her legs, butt, and core at Erika Bloom Pilates Plus studio.

In the video, Kerry can be seen doing squats and glute kick-backs on her side on the Reformer while her trainer adjusts her to make sure her form is spot-on. Kerry makes it look easy but, if you've ever taken Pilates, you know it's definitely not.

Kerry told Allure that she also loves hiking, swimming, SoulCycle, using her Peloton bike, hitting up dance classes, and using an elliptical machine. Whew! “I do different things, but I’m most obsessed with water aerobics,” she said. “Now I do it with my friends on the weekends.” Basically, Kerry really, really digs exercising.

And, of course, she tries to stay well hydrated. “The things my mother always stressed were to drink a lot of water and get a lot of rest, which I used to roll my eyes at,” she told Oprah Magazine. “Now I think she’s a genius. Health and wellness really are the sources of beauty.
