Kentucky All-Stars basketball rosters set. Nine from Louisville area selected for teams

Four boys and five girls from the Louisville area have been selected to the Kentucky All-Stars basketball teams that will face Indiana in June in their annual summer series.

Oldham County’s Max Green, Seneca’s Quel’Ron House, Christian Academy’s Jackson Washington and Butler’s Dayton Williams were selected to the Kentucky boys team.

Sacred Heart’s Reagan Bender and Angelina Pelayo, Butler’s Mariah Knight and Ramiya White and Central’s Destiny Jones were selected to the girls squad.

The Kentucky-Indiana All-Stars games annually match the top senior basketball players from each state. This year’s games are set for June 7 at Lexington Catholic High School and June 8 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Tickets will be available at kentuckybasketballcoaches.org beginning May 1.

Mr. Basketball Travis Perry of Lyon County and Miss Basketball Trinity Rowe of Pikeville automatically qualified for the teams and will wear the No. 1 jerseys for Kentucky against Indiana. Perry has signed with the University of Kentucky, and Rowe has signed with Southern Miss.

Among the Louisville-area selections, Green (Holy Cross), Washington (Florida Gulf Coast), Bender (Louisville), Pelayo (North Carolina-Wilmington), Knight (Jacksonville) and Jones (West Georgia) have committed to colleges. White had committed to Kentucky but announced earlier this month she has reopened her recruitment.

Kentucky’s head coaches are Iroquois’ Jeff Morrow (boys) and Pikeville’s Kristy Orem (girls). Assistant coaches (head coaches for the juniors) are Bowling Green’s D.G. Sherrill (boys) and Sacred Heart’s Donna Moir (girls).

Indiana’s boys lead the all-time series 103-45 and have won 45 of the past 54 meetings. Indiana’s girls lead the all-time series 53-41 after last year’s split.
