Kentucky man dies in logging accident when tractor overturns, state police say

An Adair County man was killed on Wednesday in a logging accident, according to Kentucky State Police.

Tony Burton, a 53-year-old Columbia man, was using a farm tractor to maneuver timber on Tower Road when the tractor overturned into a deep ravine, state police said. Burton became entrapped underneath the tractor.

Burton was pronounced dead on scene by the Adair County coroner, according to state police.

According to Burton’s obituary, he was born in Columbia and enjoyed fishing, hunting, driving and building demolition derby cars. He is survived by his wife Rhonda Murphy Burton and two children Jessica Thompson and Michael Burton.
