Kentucky Lt. Gov. candidate has child porn on Facebook page, campaign says it was hacked

Saying that she was hacked, the running mate for Kentucky GOP gubernatorial candidate Eric Deters had child pornography streaming on her personal Facebook page Friday morning.

Wesley Deters’ social media feed had multiple videos on her page Friday morning.

Eric Deters, a retired Northern Kentucky attorney who has courted controversy in his run for governor, said in a response video that it was “some of the most despicable conduct you will ever hear about.”

He said that someone hacked Wesley Deters’ account, posted the material, then locked her account. Eric Deters said that, as of about 10:00 a.m., Facebook had done “nothing” to take the child pornography videos down. As of 2021, Wesley Deters was president of Bulldog Media, Eric Deters’ media company.

“She woke up this morning to child porn on her account. She’s notified the FBI, she’s talking to the FBI right now,” Eric Deters said.

A spokesperson for the FBI in Louisville told the Herald-Leader that the agency is “aware of the situation and is evaluating the facts and circumstances of this incident.”

Eric Deters, who has sued Facebook before for separate reasons, said that he planned to sue the tech giant again over the ordeal.

Meta, Facebook’s parent company, has not responded to a request for comment on the situation.

Northern Kentucky-based Commonwealth’s Attorney Rob Sanders said that he’s aware of the videos and that he has reported them to both the FBI and Covington Police. A spokesperson for the Covington Police Department said that “there are no known ties to Covington” and that the department is not investigating the matter.
