Ken Burns, actors Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston to headline new Gettysburg Film Festival

Filmmaker Ken Burns, along with actors Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston, will headline the launch of a new history film festival in Gettysburg next month, according to a news release.

The inaugural Gettysburg Film Festival, hosted by Gettysburg College and the Adams County Historical Society, is being held from Friday, April 5, to Sunday, April 7.

To kick off the festival, at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 5, Burns, Sheen and Waterston will speak during the "Lessons from Lincoln" event at Gettysburg Area High School, which will include a 45-minute presentation of several clips from Burns' films about President Abraham Lincoln.

Burns will then take part in multiple events on Saturday at the Majestic Theater in Gettysburg where four of his films will be screened, followed by events at the Adams County Historical Society on Saturday evening and Sunday morning, one of which will include a conversation with Waterston.
