Kelly Ripa's Audience Groans In Disgust As She Eats A Burger With 20 Slices Of Cheese
While someone (me! I'm talking about me!) might think that a hamburger bun filled with nothing but cheese is just...a cheese sandwich, according to Burger King Thailand that's not the case.
The fast food chain's international division released a "cheeseburger" that's filled with 20 slices of American cheese and no meat, and it quickly went viral. And while that might not sound appetizing to some (I'm talking about me again), Kelly Ripa was down to try the controversial creation live on air—much to her audience's disgust.
"Whenever we go to Burger King or any sort of fast food establishment, I immediately remove the burger and give it to him, and I eat the cheese, the stuff, and the bun," Ripa explained on Live with Kelly and Mark. "Because that, to me, is why I’m there."
While they couldn't get their hands on Burger King's actual "Real Cheeseburger" (they'd have to go to Thailand for that), the production team whipped up a DIY version that looked damn near identical. The cheesy monstrosity produced audible terror from the crowd as it was placed in front of Ripa. And while the host herself looked a little apprehensive before taking a bite, she admitted that it was "pretty good" after chowing down.
The official Burger King Thailand Facebook account confirmed the Real Cheeseburger's existence on the social media platform earlier this week, promising that "this is for real." The meatless creation will only be available for a limited time and is cheaper than the OG cheeseburger (likely because it includes no actual burger).
A trend in #Thailand is to put cheese on literally everything. Now Burger King has joined in with the Real Cheese Burger. Though I think they forgot the meat.
I love cheese but I struggled eating even half of this “burger”. Maybe I should grill the other half? What do you think? pic.twitter.com/dg7wDCSCCw— Richard Barrow (@RichardBarrow) July 10, 2023
Even fans of the fast food joint are...confused. "What is Burger King thinking?" one user wrote, while another added, "My lactose intolerance is already screaming, crying, throwing up." "I can’t believe this isn’t a joke. Who is going to order that?" a third person wrote, but apparently...the answer is Kelly Ripa.
