Megan Keith recorded an Olympic qualifying standard time in a second event and broke a women's British under-23 record in the process.

The 22-year-old finished eighth in the 5,000m in a time of 14:43.24 at the Diamond League meeting in Shanghai.

She had recorded 30:36.84 over 10,000m in California, more than three seconds below the qualifying standard for the Games.

Keith's new 5,000m record had been set by Paula Radcliffe and the Scot moves on to fifth in the British all-time list.

Eilish McColgan is the only Scot to have run faster than Keith in the women’s 5000m.
