The Royals’ series in Houston, which wraps up Thursday, has showcased two of the top contenders for the American League Rookie of the Year award.

VegasInsider.com this week posted updated odds for the award, and Houston shortstop Jeremy Peña was second (+600) to Mariners center fielder Julio Rodriguez (+150).

Third on the list is Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. (+900), whose playing time in Houston was cut short because of a hand injury.

Although two other Royals rookies are among the top 10 on the odds list (first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino and catcher MJ Melendez, each at +5000), the top three are the clear favorites right now.
