The makers of the Madden 23 video game have been releasing player ratings this week, which means two things.

There will be a big to-do about anyone who is part of the “99 Club,” which is the highest rating on the game, and some players will be upset.

That Madden rating is a badge of honor for many NFL players, and they don’t like it when it’s lower than they expect.

Count Chiefs linebacker Willie Gay Jr. among them. Gay received a 69 rating, which is the same assigned to Mike Danna and rookie Leo Chenel.

Gay tweeted at EA Sports and wrote: “just take me off the game lol”

Gay also retweeted or responded to some fans who shared the same disdain for the rating.

Arrowhead Pride said rookie defensive end George Karlaftis has a 74 rating on the video game, while linebacker Nick Bolton, the former Mizzou star, was given a 79 rating.
