Chiefs placekicker Harrison Butker is finally returning to live action.

For the first time in a month-plus, Butker was not among the Chiefs players listed as inactive before an NFL game. The Chiefs play host to the Buffalo Bills Sunday afternoon at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

The veteran kicker suffered a left-ankle sprain in Week 1 and has missed the Chiefs’ past four games. The Chiefs used Matt Ammendola to handle kicking duty in Weeks 2-3, and then went with Matthew Wright in Weeks 4-5.

The Chiefs will also have starting right guard Trey Smith (pectoral) and defensive end Mike Danna (calf) available. Both players had missed some game-time of late.

Smith was hurt in Week 4 and did not play in Week 5, while Danna makes his return after not playing in the Chiefs’ past three games. Danna is part of the Chiefs’ pass-rush rotation alongside Frank Clark, George Karlaftis and Carlos Dunlap.

Cornerback Rashad Fenton (hamstring), rookie safety Bryan Cook (concussion), running back Ronald Jones, quarterback Shane Buechele, defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth, defensive end Joshua Kaindoh and rookie offensive lineman Darian Kinnard are inactive Sunday.

With Fenton out and rookie cornerback Trent McDuffie remaining on injured reserve, the Chiefs on Saturday elevated cornerback Dicaprio Bootle from their practice squad to their 53-player roster.

Cornerbacks L’Jarius Sneed, rookie Jaylon Watson and rookie Joshua Williams project as the Chiefs’ starters in a nickel package, with Chris Lammons and Bootle providing depth.

The Chiefs also elevated linebacker Cole Christiansen and safety Zayne Anderson from their practice squad. They will contribute on special teams.

For the Bills, running back Zack Moss, wide receiver Jake Kumerow (ankle), defensive tackle Brandin Bryant, offensive lineman Justin Murray and linebacker Baylon Spector will not play against the Chiefs.
