NBA free agency is scheduled to begin on Monday, Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. E.T. While teams can’t officially sign players until days later, you can expect to see a number of deals beginning to leak that Monday night.

Kawhi Leonard is one of the biggest free agents on the market. While the Los Angeles Clippers star is currently dealing with a serious knee injury, he’s still expected to command a lot of interest on the open market.

But will Leonard reciprocate any of that interest? It seems unlikely. According to multiple NBA insiders, teams believe that Leonard will re-sign with the Clippers.

Sunday afternoon, ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski confirmed that. He has not heard anything besides Leonard re-signing in Los Angeles.

“I’ve gotten no indication that Kawhi Leonard wants to do anything except resigning with the Clippers,” he reported on ESPN’s free agency special with Zach Lowe.

Leonard, a California native, left the Raptors for the Clippers in free agency two years ago. It would be surprising if the All-NBA forward chose to leave Southern California for another destination.

The Clippers forward is coming off a 2020-21 season in which he averaged 24.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game.
