Katy Perry Has Priceless Reaction to Wardrobe Malfunction on 'American Idol'

Katy Perry was wearing a sculptural chrome top (was it a shark? a spaceship?) on last night's American Idol and, uh-oh, the piece came off in the middle of the show! The singer's wardrobe malfunction didn't lead to a full-on flashing of the audience (phew!) but it did require Perry to hide behind the judges' podium and cover up with a pillow.

"I need my top to stay on," the "E.T." singer is heard saying in a behind-the-scenes video she shared on Instagram.

The video shows the Idol crew's all-hands-on-deck attempt to fix her busted bust. "If it's not fixed, this show is gonna get more than it wanted," Perry says, holding a wrench. Meantime, Luke Bryan is milling around with a pair of tiny scissors, when really what that situation calls for is a welder.

The malfunction coincided with Roman Collins' performance of James Brown’s "It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World," which allowed Perry to deliver her quip of the night: "That song broke my top off," she said. "I guess it is a woman's world."
