Katie Lowes on the final season of 'Scandal'

Katie Lowes currently plays Quinn Perkins on the ABC series "Scandal." After seven seasons the show is coming to an end, though, and Lowes joined BUILD Series NYC to talk about the final season.

"Scandal" is known for bringing the drama, and that hasn't changed in the last season. Lowes spilled the details on what people can expect to happen on the show, being pregnant on set and what she really thinks about Olivia Pope.

Lowes answered an important question that has sparked many debates among "Scandal" fans: Should Olivia and Fitz end up together? Will they end up in Vermont making jam and living a peaceful life? Lowes doesn't think so.

"If that girl [Olivia Pope], was your friend, you'd be like -- for the 500th time -- 'Don't date that dude!' Obviously, it doesn't work out. I feel like she is a career woman who loves her job, and being on the right side of justice and helping people. That is where I want to see her end up."

Fans have been going crazy after "Scandal" creator, Shonda Rhimes, revealed that "Scandal" and "How To Get Away With Murder" would come together in back-to-back crossover episodes. Fans and critics of the show have been desperate for information on the episode after Rhimes posted on social media a copy of the "Scandal" script featuring Annalise Keating. All of the cast members have been keeping quiet on what people can expect from the episode, including Lowes.

"Yeah, so I can't tell you anything. Olivia Pope is on an episode on 'How To Get Away With Murder' and Annelise Keating does an episode of 'Scandal,' and that's where that ends."

The one thing Lowes couldn't keep quiet about was her pregnancy. The actress was pregnant throughout filming for this season. Rhimes was the second person Lowes told about her pregnancy, and she quickly wrote her pregnancy into the script.

"I work in a place where the precedent has been set between Kerry Washington being a mom, Viola Davis as a mom and a lot of the other cast and crew members are moms, it's just this place where I can take my kid to work. There is a nursery on the lot where are the mom's kids go to play on set."

These kinds of accommodations for mothers on set allowed them to continue working. Rhimes created a show with strong and complex female characters that will go down in history as being some of the best characters on television, and we are going to miss seeing them on screen.

"I think the whole thing is bittersweet. I will miss the people, we are very, very, very close, and that is not a lie. I swear to you guys we get along, and we are in love as a cast. I feel lucky that my boss [Shonda Rhimes] is such a badass and writes these amazingly complicated female characters."

Every season of "Scandal," has been filled with many plot twists that always keep us entertained. Thursday nights will never be the same again without Olivia Pope and her gladiators.
