Katie Holmes’s NYC Subway Outfit Includes Big Pants and the Coat She Can’t Stop Wearing

Katie Holmes riding the New York City subway with wet hair is all of us.

This Sunday, the actor stepped out for what we presume, after looking at her soaked brunette locks, was a busy day of running errands around the city. She was photographed standing on the platform of the Broadway-Lafayette subway stop in SoHo, where she lives.

As always, even with her fresh-out-the-shower hair, the Dawson’s Creek alum looked effortlessly chic in an outfit composed of easy, timeless staples.

An unbothered Holmes wore a white collared button-up shirt with subtle tan vertical stripes, a breezy piece she left unbuttoned at the top and casually tucked into black wide-leg pants. She kept warm on the unseasonably cold day with a double-breasted camel coat from the Frankie Shop, which she’s been spotted wearing on several occasions before. (The cozy outerwear retails for $495 and is available in several other colorways.) And, under Holmes’s big pants, a pair of luxurious creamy white leather loafers with a small black block heel were visible.

The actor finished the fresh-faced, off-duty look with a slouchy black leather shoulder bag and black rectangular shades. She had on a dainty gold chain necklace and her go-to nose hoop.

“I love my vintage T-shirts. They’re so yummy. They’re a little dirty, a little stained or whatever, and that’s me,” the Rare Objects director told Harper’s Bazaar in 2022 of her approach to dressing. She added, “We live in a world where we have a premiere and you want to look nice, and it turns into being a fashion person, and I’m like, ‘Well, I just like to look nice, I’m not really a fashion person.’ We all just want to look good.”
