James Middleton, younger brother of Catherine, Princess of Wales, is showing support for his oldest sister amid her shocking cancer diagnosis.

Today on Instagram, the 36-year-old entrepreneur posted a never-before-seen childhood photograph of himself and Kate standing in front of a green mountain. A likely tweenage Kate smiles in a black collared shirt, while a young James, in a red top and a matching backpack, stares directly into the camera.

He wrote in the caption, “Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this one with you too ⛰️❤️.”

Kate personally announced her cancer diagnosis in a video released by Kensington Palace today. In the clip, she references the abdominal surgery she underwent in January, for a condition that was originally thought to be noncancerous.

“The surgery was successful; however, tests after the operation found cancer had been present,” she said. “My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”

She opened up about the diagnosis’s impact on her, husband Prince William, and their three kids: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.

“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” Kate continued. “As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte, and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I’m going to be okay. As I’ve said to them, I am well, and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal, in my mind, body, and spirits.”
