A good eye mask is a godsend for puffiness, and sheet masks take self-care to a whole new level. But have you ever thought about wearing both skincare saviors at the same time? It might seem silly at first, but it’s the trick Kate Hudson swears by for hydrated, makeup-ready skin. And her go-to duo is from the drugstore: the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrogel Sheet Mask and Soap & Glory’s Puffy Eye Attack Brightening Under Eye Mask.

“I like to do eye masks under a full mask. I love [to do it] before I put on makeup,” the actress said in a new Beauty Secrets video for Vogue.

In the video, the Glass Onion star shared her full getting-ready skincare routine, which she admits changes all the time. “Because I love product so much, that keeps me playing with my skincare routine,” she said. “So like, what I’m using today will not be what I use next week.”

What doesn’t change, though, is the wellness habits that keep her mentally strong, including meditation—and while masking, she said, is the perfect time to practice it.

“For me, meditation is probably the most important self-care that I do in a day. I know it sounds silly, but when you have your mask on, it’s actually a good time to do it. You can do a nice 10-minute meditation,” she said while massaging her masks with Mount Lai’s De-Puffing Jade Facial Roller. “I can thank my mom [Goldie Hawn] for her love of meditation and her really being a proponent for that and mental health—mental fitness, we like to call it—because she’s been, you know, doing all that since the ’70s, darling.”

Meditation included or not, shoppers love the eye and sheet masks just as well on their own.

The sheet mask contains purified hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate the skin. “I consistently go back to this Neutrogena Hydro Boost mask. It’s super hydrating and my skin always feels supple and soft afterward,” one reviewer writes. “If you can’t go to a spa, this is the next best experience,” another raves.

The eye patches, which Hudson wears under the sheet mask, contain hydrating glycerin, plant peptides, and cooling cucumber extract to de-puff and brighten the delicate under-eye area. “I LOVE THESE! And my skin does too!!” one reviewer writes.

Whether you’re prepping your complexion for a big event or simply hoping to reset it after a stressful week, these affordable picks will get the job done. And while you’re at it, shop some of Hudson’s other beauty favorites below.
