Kate Hudson Announces Debut Album “Glorious” and Explains How She 'Got to the Core of Who I Am' While Making It
Hudson said the upcoming 12-song project "is realer to me than anything I’ve done in my entire life" as she unveils its cover, release date and tracklist
It's finally time for Kate Hudson's debut album.
On Wednesday, April 17, the Oscar-nominated actress unveiled the title, cover and release date for her first album, Glorious, and released a new song called "Gonna Find Out," explaining how making the 12-track project led her to find "the core of who I am."
"I'd say it doesn’t seem real," said Hudson, 44, in a statement about the album, set for a May 17 release. "But the truth is: this is realer to me than anything I’ve done in my entire life. It was always this, I just needed to get to a place where I was ready... and the songs got to the core of who I am."

Crafted alongside Linda Perry of the 4 Non Blondes as well as Johan Carlsson and Danny Fujikawa, Glorious has been a long time in the making for the Glass Onion actress, who's felt passionate about music for quite some time.
As Hudson promotes the album via interviews and performances — including an upcoming show at the Bellwether in Los Angeles on May 18 — she looks forward to letting listeners into her world as a musician.
"When it comes to talking about where this album comes from, the years I’ve spent quietly making music and living inside the songs, I’m not sure I’ll be able to stop talking about it," she said. "I’m just thrilled so many smart people want to talk to me about Glorious — and the process of making my first record."

"Gonna Find Out," which follows Hudson's previous singles "Talk About Love" and "Live Forever," finds her looking for a steamy connection with a romantic partner — representing one of the many topics explored throughout the album.
"I wanted something that was sexy and delicious, vulnerable and strong, willing and fearless — and especially gloriously in love with the way life takes you on this journey if you’ll just show up and be open," she explained. "I wanted songs that could reach across all that, and that is a lot to cover."
